In the face of a declining birthrate and the accelerating globalization of society, universities are increasingly expected to cultivate highly skilled individuals who can thrive in the international arena and meet the needs of both industry and society.

At Tokyo Metropolitan University, we are launching English-taught degree programs within our existing departments, enabling students to systematically study the academic disciplines that our university has long pursued—entirely in English.

Through these programs, Japanese and international students will study together in English, fostering mutual understanding of different cultures and values. This environment will nurture flexible thinking and develop global specialists equipped with advanced language proficiency and expertise to compete on the world stage.

Furthermore, we aim to attract outstanding international students who seek to deepen their expertise in various academic fields. We will also provide robust support through Japanese language education and internship opportunities at Japanese companies, thereby fostering highly skilled international professionals who can contribute to Japan’s growth.
