Graduate School Interdisciplinary Programs

About the Program
A systematic program for Master’s students that consists of not only studies for one’s major but also classes from subjects related to one’s major, as well as interdisciplinary classes outside of one’s school and major.
Studying cutting-edge research outside your major area of study helps enhance your research capabilities. Additionally, researching other fields and studying their methods will broaden your research horizons and cultivates practical skills.
Requirements
- Must be student in a TMU Master’s program
- Must belong to a graduate school/department/division specified by each program
Each year, several (2–3) students are selected from those enrolled in each school, department or division—about five students in total for each program—with interviews, etc. done as necessary. Students interested in the program are required to apply during the specified time period using the specified application.
Program Completion Requirements
A student will be recognized as having completed the program when the following conditions are met.
- Has completed the requirements for the affiliated graduate school/department/division
- Has completed 10 or more credits in the classes specified by each program
Note: A certain number of overlapping credits may be allowed between the credits required for the affiliated graduate school/department/division, and the credits required to complete the program.
