On July 23, 2026, Professor Michael Sharpe from York College, The City University of New York (CUNY), visited Tokyo Metropolitan University’s Minami-Osawa Campus.

During his visit, Professor Sharpe toured campus facilities, including the library and the international student housing. He also met with Professor Masayoshi Noguchi, Vice President (International Affairs), and Associate Professor Minakshi Keeni of the Faculty of Global Innovation and Development (GLIDe).
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the establishment of a student exchange program and a partnership agreement between York College and the Faculty of Global Innovation and Development (GLIDe), which is scheduled to open in April 2028. The participants also exchanged ideas on future educational and research collaboration, further strengthening their mutual understanding.

The visit strengthened ties between Tokyo Metropolitan University and York College, The City University of New York, and is expected to promote further student and academic exchange between the two institutions.
