On June 24, 2026, Professor Sato Ashida from the University of Iowa visited Tokyo Metropolitan University’s Minami-Osawa Campus.

During her visit, Professor Ashida toured campus facilities, including the library and the international student housing. She also met with Professor Masayoshi Noguchi, Vice President (International Affairs) and faculty members of the Faculty of Global Innovation and Development (GLIDe). The meeting featured productive discussions on potential educational and research exchanges, as well as future collaboration between the University of Iowa and Tokyo Metropolitan University, particularly with the Faculty of Global Innovation and Development (GLIDe).

The visit strengthened the foundation for future international collaboration and further supported preparations for the opening of the Faculty of Global Innovation and Development (GLIDe) in April 2028.
