September 10, 2014, a ceremony celebrating international students who completed studies with the support of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Asian Human Resources Fund was held under the auspices of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in Tokyo Metropolitan Main Building No. 1.
The event was to wish the students success in their future endeavors with the expectation that they will act as bridges between Tokyo and the rest of Asia. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Vice Governor Nobuhiro Maeda expressed his appreciation for the diligent efforts made by the 22 students, who devoted themselves in studies in the past three years, and commemorative gifts were presented.
International students supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Asian Human Resources Fund
The fund aims to develop human resources by engaging students in advanced research that will contribute to the development of Asia. As of September 1, 2014, there are 58 students participating in the program, engaged in studies in nine fields such as development and utilization of new aircraft materials. Additionally, 28 students receive only scholarships from the fund.
The international students supported by the fund are from 15 countries and regions: Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, India, the Philippines, Laos, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Thailand, Nepal, Malaysia, and Mongolia.
