Traffic Restrictions and Maintenance Project for Matsuki Hinata Green Space

Background
  • On February 15, 2024, traffic restrictions were implemented within the green space due to the risk of falling and fallen trees caused by snowfall and other factors.
  • Although removal work for the hazardous trees was started, it was later discovered that the danger area was widespread all over the green space.
  • To improve the above situations, a comprehensive maintenance project was considered in June 2024.
  • In response, a large-scale survey was conducted by professional contractors over one year in FY2024.

Future Measures
  • Based on the survey results, a four-year maintenance project was carried out in FY2025.

Objectives of the Maintenance Project
  • Removal of trees at risk of falling or collapse
  • Preservation of the Satochi-satoyama area
  • Consideration for biodiversity

Traffic Restrictions
  • Traffic restrictions will continue depending on the conditions (see map below)
  • The latest information will be posted on the university website.
