Support for Ukrainian Students Who Have Come to Japan to Seek Refuge

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Tokyo Metropolitan University published a message from the President on March 15, 2022, expressing TMU’s commitment to offering the necessary support to students affected by the conflict.

Subsequently, TMU has decided to accept Ukrainian students who face difficulty resuming their education and/or research in their homeland and provide them with the necessary education and research support.

As an educational and research institution, TMU will provide the following support for students to ensure that they can continue with their studies and student life.

1. Eligibility

Students who are enrolled in universities in Ukraine and wish to attend courses offered by the University

2. Details of Support
  1.  Educational support: Access to classes offered by the University (free tuition)
  2.  Housing support: University housing (free accommodation)
  3.  Other support: Counseling

We encourage students with any concerns with the duration of enrollment and the choice of subjects to get in touch so that we can provide support for the best way forward.
