Nurturing front-line researchers and leading specialists through the synergy effect between management studies and economics
Besides being Japan's capital city, Tokyo is also home to a huge concentration of important business enterprises of all sizes that underpin Japan's economy, and offers great potential for new business start-up. To convert this potential into real economic vigor, there is a clear need for the cultivation both of researchers to play a leading role in exploring the realities of business management, and of managers and entrepreneurs equipped with the high-level skills need to drive organizational growth and development.
With the trend toward economic globalization, the rapid development of the Internet and the growth in environmental awareness, the framework within which economic activity takes place is changing all the time. The emergence of “big data” has been accompanied by a steadily-growing need for economic analysis, asset management, and funding and financial risk management that make effective use of advanced economics and specialist financial know-how.
At TMU's Graduate School of Management, besides working to maintain the high level of research required to meet society's needs, we also strive to ensure that the results of this research are reflected in both the academic and practical aspects of our Master's programs and doctoral programs. To achieve our objectives, we have three Master's programs (Business Administration (MBA) Program, Economics (MEc) Program and Finance (MF) Program) and two doctoral programs (Business Administration Program and Economics Program).
